VFR Flight Planner

Unofficial planning aid — not for navigation. Always brief officially (AIS / NOTAM / weather) before flight.
US VFR
US VFR planning — FAA sectional + OurAirports airfields + aviationweather.gov. Planning aid, not for primary navigation. No US domestic VFR flight plan to file — consider VFR flight following with ATC. Headings use per-leg magnetic variation; ETA shows destination sunset.
NOTAM & TFR
Tap any airport for its NOTAMs; en-route NOTAM areas & TFRs also show in the vertical profile. Planning aid — verify current NOTAMs & TFRs before flight.
Map layers
Off: past zoom 12 the chart's own airport symbols take over. Route, alternate and NOTAM-carrying fields keep their marker, and every field stays tappable.
Admin console
Secrets (Resend API key) stay in server env; these are operational config, saved to the database.

Bulk pull
The FAA expects at most one full pull per 24 h; the app answers queries from the mirror and tops up live per route/field.

GPS marker
The map follows you while the GPS is on. Drag it to look around — the position button then reads Centre on me and brings it back. The screen is kept awake while tracking.
Map layers
Toggle each layer · labels separately
Designated ENR 4.4 points. Filled triangle = compulsory, open = on-request, star = RNAV. Those are IFR reporting requirements and do not apply to a VFR flight — the positions are still usable as waypoints. An amber ring means the coordinate did not come from a State AIP; tap it for the source.
Coverage: Israel, Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria only — empty elsewhere for want of data.
Airways, black = flyable conventional or RNAV, blue = RNAV-5 only. Altitude decides whether one matters to you — tap a route for each segment's base, top and MFA. Not routes a VFR flight joins; shown so you know where IFR traffic flows.
Coverage: Israel, Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria only. Elsewhere this layer is empty because we hold no data there — not because the airspace is clear.

OpenAIP key is set — checking whether the service accepts it…
OSM gives the best airport ground detail (runways/taxiways). Downloads are throttled and identify the app to respect OSM's servers — keep areas modest and zoom ≤13. Any tile OSM won't serve falls back to USGS topo, so the pack never has gaps or “blocked” tiles. Raise Max zoom (13–15) over a small area for street-level detail.
No area selected.
Click "Draw Rectangle" above, then drag on the map.
“Save into a folder” lets you pick your oruxmaps/mapfiles folder and writes the map straight in (no unzip). Otherwise use the zip.

Before you use this

This is an unofficial planning aid built from public and community data that may be incomplete or out of date. It is not a substitute for an official pre-flight briefing and must not be used for navigation.

Always obtain the official AIS, NOTAM and weather briefing, and file your flight plan with AIS, before flight. Verify every altitude, frequency, airspace boundary and chart against the current official publications.

Nothing here is airworthiness- or clearance-grade. You remain responsible for the flight.
